about

(Pat Martino)

Ron Thomas — "I had gotten some work of my own on 52nd Street up in West Philly, and that's when I made my big move — I called Pat Martino up and booked him for the jobs that I had. When we started working on these jobs, he got the idea to use me in a quartet that he would eventually record with. The album that I knew best was Desperado. I had been listening to it since 1968 or so, so I thought this tune would be an interesting choice for this project. It relates to that distant past when I was thinking about what I was going to do, and how I was gonna become a Jazz player."
